The next level of Emmanuel's ministry is now under way! The Emmanuel Experience is our new broadcast 3:30 PM each Sunday on LeSea Broadcasting KWHSTV Broadcast Channel 51. This dynamic outreach provides Emmanuel with an extended reach across the region in proclaiming the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We ask all Emmanuel family and friends to pray for God's anointing on this vital outreach tool, and to support it by telling your family and friends to tune in. Media outreach, through broadcast and broadband (like our online ministry) creates opportunities to serve potentially millions of people who may never have the opportunity to worship with us within the walls of the church. For those beyond the reach of our local ministry, for the unchurched, the incarcerated, the sick and shut-in, the Emmanuel Experience is more than just a slogan. It is a call to action. Let us prayerfully unite in support of this latest expansion of this experience called Emmanuel.

Legendary Gospel Pioneer
One of gospel music's most legendary figures, Bishop Walter Hawkins was one of the most beloved figures in contemporary Gospel Music today. In the Thirty plus years of his career, he has created one of the most prolific and outstanding catalogs of hit gospel recordings and published songs. Recordings and published songs that include such great hits as: Marvelous, Going Up Yonder, Changed, Be Grateful, Thank You, He's That Kind Of Friend, Until I Found The Lord, Jesus Christ Is the Way, I'm Not The Same, Holy One, Spirit Now, Battle, I Love You Lord, Special Gift, Set Me Free, Is There Any Way, Everybody Ought To Know, My Gratitude, It's Right and Good, Cry On, I'm So Thankful, Just In The Nick of Time, Jesus Made A Way, Thank You Lord, I Must Go On, I'm Going Away, Lord Give Us Time, Try Christ, I Feel Like Singing, Dear Jesus, God Is Standing By, I Love Jesus More, Follow Me, All You Need Is Christ, He Brought Me, He'll Be There, Goin To A Place, I'm A Pilgrim, Never Alone, On & On, and many more. When looking back at his musical endeavors, Hawkins understands their place in his ministry. "Early on I thought my ministry and my music were apart from each other. But now I see they work hand-in-hand", he observes. "I can go a lot of places with my music that I can't go as a pastor and vice versa. The purpose of both is getting the message out to people. I've had some material blessings and it's okay to have them, but to be blessed with peace of mind and joy in your life, that's when you will be truly fulfilled." MORE
Mother Of Civil Rights Movement Passes
Dorothy Height, the longtime leader of the National Council of Negro Women died last week at Howard University Hospital, in Washington , D.C. Height's name is among the legends of the Civil Rights Movement. She led the NCNW from 1957 to 1988, working with the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and others in the fight for civil, voting and equal rights. Height was born in Richmond , Va. and lived to be 98 before going home, today. But even to the end, she was in the battle; she was among a handful of key African-American leaders who met with President Barack Obama at the White House recently, for a summit on race and the economy. Height was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1994 by President Bill Clinton and the Congressional Gold Medal in 2004--the two highest civilian honors in America. PLAY VIDEO ABOVE

A Preacher's Confession by Rev. Neil Brown
A Musical Portrait Of Hope Members of Emmanuel Baptist Church and our sister churches in Colorado Springs and Pueblo, including a group of cancer survivors, have joined together with our own Sister Denar Joyner and EMBC Minister of Music Gerald Clay to produce an inspiring vision of hope and faith in God's love. Speak Lord is a collection of spiritual love songs to the struggling, the brokenhearted and the lost, meant to encourage the very least among us, those who struggle with loss and disease. Lead by Denar's gentle and lilting alto, reminiscent of jazz great Diane Reeves, this collection of smooth ballads and celebratory Gospel makes a perfect Christmas gift. A portion of profits from this CD will be donated to cancer research. Copies are available in our AdMinistry Office or, for mail orders, visit For Your Glory Music's website. Congratulations
to Reverend Caron Allen on her publishing
debut! From Whence They Came documents the
struggles and triumphs of eight generations
of her family, beginning with her
great-great-great-grandmother Eular, a slave
woman on a plantation in Virginia. This
story, that begins with Eular’s trek south
to find her lost children, weaves historical
events into the actual lives of the Burdette
family, and it captures the family’s
unwavering commitment to each new generation
of Burdettes. As you embark on this journey
with Eular, you will find yourself
encouraged and emboldened by her audacity,
determination, and love for her lost
daughters. When you read this factual
account, it may seem somewhat familiar to
you, especially if you are of African
descent. It is an extraordinary story, and
it could very well be your story, a story of
survival, endurance and perpetual hope!
This
hard-hitting, well documented book is an
urgent call for business, government,
education and the church to declare a state
of emergency for African Americans. Says the
author, “The black community can no longer
tolerate the scourge of crime, AIDS, poverty
and shattered family structures.” Most
important, this book provides a roadmap for
individuals and communities to rise from
their present circumstances and become the
people God destined them to be. The author
is on a crusade to rescue Black America from
impending disaster by sounding the alarm
concerning the perishing predicament of his
beloved race. In this book, he offers real
solutions that are grounded in divine wisdom
and guided by proven values. The contents of
this book are sure to frustrate the
comfortable and fuel the committed.
