Emmanuel Family and Friends,

It’s Spring Cleaning Time! Saturday, May 28th at 9:00, is a day set aside for cleaning and sprucing up our campuses. We are asking for your help! Please come out to help us wash windows, trim vegetation, dust, declutter, and more. The more help we have the less time it will take. Lunch will be served!

Pastor Thompson has been busy in May preaching at revivals and other places in the city, and it is expected that June will be even busier. The Hampton Minister’s Conference is right around the corner, followed by the KBGF Conference in Houston, then the Music Evangelism Foundation (MEF) here in Colorado Springs. Pastor will be preaching and the VOT will be singing on Tuesday, June 21 and Pastor will be preaching again on Thursday morning at Village Seven Presbyterian Church located at 4040 Nonchalant Circle.

Monday, May 30th is Memorial Day, when we remember those who died while serving their country in the armed forces. This is different than Veteran’s Day when we celebrate the service of all military veterans. Emmanuel normally recognizes Veteran’s Day by wearing military uniforms. We want to try something different this year and have members and friends wear their uniforms on both Memorial and Veteran’s Day. Retired military members, if you can still get in them, let’s wear them to show our respect. The admin office will be closed on Monday, and there are no evening activities.

Emmanuel is getting ready to move into streaming our services. New media equipment has already started arriving and installation will start within the next month. You WILL be able to see and hear the difference in all aspects of our media ministry. See what your tithing dollars can do when you trust God! More to follow.

Dave Ramsey FPU Kits: Don't forget Sunday May 29th is the last day to sign up for Financial Peace University and get your kit (training materials) for $75 per family. Thereafter, the kits will cost $100 per family. The class starts September 9, 2016. The sign-up sheet is at the reception desk. Please pass this message on to others, and see Sister Betty Shepard for more information.

As most of you know by now, Emmanuel had a donor to give $5000 for the purchase of a golf cart. Praise the LORD for a generous giving congregation. The cart will be used by the parking ministry to assist congregants parked in the far corners of the campus. We have also gotten an estimate to install a fence behind the EAC to be able to secure the church vehicles and the golf cart. Fence installation should be starting within the next couple months.

Vacation Bible School (VBS) is not just for children but for everyone and it starts on Monday, June 20th and goes through the 23rd in the EAC. VBS hours are from 6:30-9:00pm. Bring a friend to VBS. See Sister Kathy Elzie for more information.

The E Young Adults will be meeting at Summit Bowling on Interquest Parkway on Friday, May 27th at 7:00. Come out and have some fun with the young folks.

Don’t forget our Junior Laymen are back up and running and meet every 4th Saturday at 10:00 in the EAC. Bring your young men out so our brothers can help them learn more about the word of God and how to become better young men.

Big shout out to Rev Tyson for organizing the prayer vigil at the south campus and everyone who supported the effort. Please continue to keep our pastor, congregation, community and country in your prayers.

Graduation time is here. On June 19th, at the 10:45 service, we want to celebrate all our Emmanuel graduates. Our speaker for Baccalaureate Sunday is Jonathan Koonce, Attorney at Law, and son of Deacon Perry and Minister Estelle Koonce. Please join us as we celebrate our graduates. If you are a 2016 graduate, please be in place in the JJ Johnson room no later than 10:00 to meet with Pastor Thompson and prepare for the service. Please contact Sister Karen F. Hughes or a member of the Moses E. Ford Scholarship Committee for more information. Ladies, remember this is also Father’s Day so starting planning now to treat your special someone to a very special day.

The new choir chairs are at the south campus and looking great if you haven’t seen them.

Thanks for your donations for the silk plants and tables at the south campus. The tables are in place and the plants have been ordered so you should be seeing them soon. Continue to look at the back of the monthly calendars for more ways you can help and donate or contact Sister Georgette Mack (719) 650-3269.

Emmanuel is going to the mission field again and this time it will be in South Africa and the dates are August 1-11. Please see Minister Skinner for more information.

In His Service,

Deacon Kervin Mack
