Emmanuel’s Family Day 2016: Our annual family day was a tremendous success and mega thanks to all who attended, participated, cooked, planned, and had anything to do with its success. Thanks to Cedric and Annie Pelt and their team for their herculean efforts as first time chairpersons. Also a big shout out to Wes and Rebekkah Harris for picking up the ball in Cedric and Annie’s absence.
Let’s congratulate the Women’s Ministry for a very successful school supply drive and having the Ronald McDonald mobile at the Family Day for the first time. Special thanks to Georgette Mack and Jennifer Rivers for their hard work with the school supplies and Ronald McDonald. We had 46 students to sign up for school supplies, but we served 119 students, what a blessing! Thank you to our North and South campus congregants for your donations to the cause. SHEEPFOLD MINISTRY IS COMING IN OCTOBER:
You may be asking, “What is as Sheepfold Ministry?” A Sheepfold is comprised of a number of tribes, and a tribe is an organization of small groups (40-50 members) of saved individuals who are growing in Christ. It is designed to help EMBC members stay connected to one another and the church through prayer, worship, witnessing, ministry and fellowship. The Sheepfold Ministry creates an atmosphere of belonging, where a member feels important and vital to the church, and also feel a sense of concern and love for their well-being.
What is the purpose of the Sheepfold Ministry? The purpose is to assist the pastor in establishing and maintaining a spiritual covering over the flock of EMBC and return all lost sheep back to the fold. The Sheepfold Ministry encourages communication between our members, their families and the church and helps keep continual contact with all members who are sick, shut-in, absent from worship, etc.
To ensure the church office, our deacons, and ministers have accurate contact information to implement our Sheepfold Ministry, during August, after each service, we are asking each member to stop by the sign-up table and provide your current address, phone number, and email address. We need this information to make sure you are included in the appropriate tribe as we kick off this ministry. We will also be at the South campus this Sunday requesting sign-ups.
GIRL SCOUTS: Girl Scout Troop 922 is starting back up after a summer break and will be looking for YOU at their first meeting on August 20th at 10:30. Grades K-12 are welcome to participate. For more information contact Alecia Mathis at email@example.com.
Thanks for your generous Spirit: God loves a cheerful giver! Recently the South Campus has received several donations to include a brand new 40 inch television, DVR, and tables. A congregation member has also purchased a new cross for the chapel at the north campus. We thank you again for blessing us as God continues to bless you.

There are many opportunities to join the “E” for intercessory prayer.Did you know we still have intercessory prayer Monday-Friday mornings from 5:30am to 5:45am and then on Sunday mornings at 6:30 at the North Campus and 9:00 at the South Campus. August Men’s Retreat at Highlands Presbyterian Retreat Center: The first weekend in August each year Zion Baptist Church sponsors a Men’s Retreat and Emmanuel has been a regular participant for years. This year we had 9 men who went to the mountain top and had a blessed time in the Lord. Fourteen churches from Colorado Springs to Denver were represented this year and OUR pastor provided the “The Conclusion of the Matter” message this year. What a joyous time we all had and we look forward to doing it again next year. The 2017 dates are August 4 & 5, so men let’s see if we can fill both vans and then some next year. For more information you can contact Rev. Solomon Moore or Deacon Clinton Napoleon.
