Guidelines for Parents

Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Children’s Church is an age-specific program designed to reveal eternal truths of the Gospel to our younger EMBC members. Age groups include ages 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12. Our vision for our Children’s Ministry is to assist parents in the study of Jesus Christ leading to the child’s salvation, a personal devotion time, spiritual growth, daily application of God’s Word to their lives, and evangelism, through sound biblical teaching and Christian adults who will pray with our children. “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” –Proverbs 22

Welcome to EKids!

Safety and Security

At Emmanuel our focus is to take the necessary precautions to ensure a safe and healthy environment for every child in our care! It is our Number #1 priority to make certain that your child is safe when they are in our care. To do this, we have implemented a Paging System that will alert you in case of an emergency. Once your child is signed in, the pager will be given to you (the parent) and your child will receive a name tag with their name and pager number printed on the name tag for added security. When you sign your child out at the end of service, you will be given a red card with your child’s name and assigned pager number on it. The teacher in that classroom will take your red card, match the name and number to the individual, and release your child to you.

Visitors in Classroom

Any parent who wishes to observe any classroom will have to sign in and receive a visitor’s tag. Visitors will be asked to observe from the back of the classroom, away from the children.

Medical Emergencies, Accidents & Injuries

The eKids director will contact you through the security of the paging system if there is any type of emergency concerning your child. Please keep an eye on the overhead screens throughout the building just in case your pager is defective.

Evacuation Plan

Each quarter, eKids will conduct a routine Fire Drill conducted by the eKids Team and the Security Team! Every child will always be evacuated in the event of an emergency. The eKids Team & Security Team will make sure the building is clear and every child is accounted for before we release any children to parents with pagers.

What to Bring

  • Preschool- Homework
  • Middle- Homework and Bibles, Offering
  • Youth-Homework and Bibles, Tithes & Offering

What to Wear

Children are more than welcome to wear their Sunday suits and dresses! However, preschoolers will participate in arts and crafts. We have smocks on hand to protect their clothing from paints, glitter, and any other marks from markers and crayons! In the older classes, we ask that students between the ages of 6-12 bring their Bibles. We would like our children to get in the habit of bringing their weapon with them every Sunday!

Food

Children are not fed during children’s church so we are asking that all parents make sure that kids not only eat a hearty breakfast before service but we ask that they get plenty of rest!!

Show and Tell

eKids will have show & tell on 5th Sundays only! Children will be allowed to bring am item from home to show it off to the rest of the class!
