Senior Pastor, Bishop Cleveland A. Thompson has been an impactful Pastor in the Colorado area as well as globally. With the support of his family, Bishop Thompson at an early age answered the call to servanthood on his life. God has entrusted him with shepherding Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church (EMBC) in this 21st century.
Bishop Thompson has been a faithful servant of stewarding Emmanuel. He has a heart for God’s people. His authentic way of caring, compassionate spirit, and keen sense of leadership has reshaped the history of Emmanuel’s growth spiritually, physically and in a humanitarian way. Under his leadership, Emmanuel became the first predominantly African American church in Southern Colorado in the Northern part of the city diversifying and serving impoverished communities with a God-driven vision.
Bishop Thompson is affiliated with many Christian based organizations, to name a few – The National Baptist Convention, USA Inc, The Western States Baptist Convention of Colorado, and Wyoming, (serves as the President), American Baptist Churches of Rocky Mountains (ABCRM), (serves as a Board Member), and Kingdom Builder Global Fellowship. These associations along with Emmanuel’s partnership with Ridgeways Baptist Church in Nairobi, Kenya has allowed Bishop Thompson’s philanthropic contributions and Emmanuel to have a local, national, and international impact.
Bishop Thompson is resolute in his sermonic and biblical teachings. He is a profound and charismatic preacher from Mississippi who is a willing vessel committed to the advancement of the Kingdom of Christ and a man of integrity with unshakeable faith who is sought after for his wisdom and has been on several speaking engagements.
Bishop Thompson has been acknowledged and received numerous accolades for his contribution and leadership role in communities near and far. For several decades, Emmanuel and many others have been the benefactors of Bishop Thompson’s unwavering spiritual maturity, leadership knowledge, love for the Lord and His church.
